Great value 5 Oct 2010
By Quinn
I took this camera SCUBA diving and it worked remarkably well. All cameras are difficult to use underwater and this was no exception - the viewfinder was near impossible to see through my goggles... the buttons aren't clearly marked either so you really have to know the camera to be able to use it underwater!

...as a camera which I was happy to take to the beach - perfect - 10 out of 10!

Above water, remember to wipe water off the lens or the results will be less than pleasing.

I'm used to a good SLR which takes the shot as soon as the shutter button is pressed - this camera took over a second - but for this money I cannot complain - I'd have had no shots at all without it.

I would recommed this camera to anyone. It was cheap, but took good quality pictures. The camera is not as good as my expensive one but for the price it is great. The waterproof case was brilliant. We took hundreds of pictures and managed to get a fair few good ones. It is surprising how hard it is to photograph fish and turtles ect. If I had had disposables then we would have hardly had any.

You can get expensive water proof ones without cases now but I would not want to take one on a boat or anything as you bang it when getting on and off boats. The case stood upto quite a bashing by myself but is still in good condition and waterproof.

Was the best purchase I have ever made.

... and what you pay for is a cheap digital camera in a sealed plastic case

We've tried it in the Maldives in crystal clear water, and anything more than about a meter away just doesn't appear in focus.

We took over 100 photos and have 8 which are useable (however - the advantage of being digital is that you can take loads of piccies and chuck away the bad ones)

It took some reasonable out of water photos (when the battery had run out on our main camera) and the case worked well (at least the camera didn't get wet!)

If you're looking for high quality underwater shots - this probably isn't for you

However - if that is the case - you'd probably expect to have to pay an awful lot more
