I need a camcorder to make my music videos but didnt have a great deal of cash to spend on one, i was skeptical about getting this one because of the size of it but i went ahead and bought it,. When it arrived i gave it a test run and was pleasantly surprised, am happy with my item.

This camera does what I require it for, but presents difficulty in the sunlight as it is difficult to see what you are filming outdoors.

Bad sound quality whilst in a moving vehicle, not able to recognise anything that has been talked about. Due to the fact i use this device for work this is a major requirement. Taking pictures is fine, and taking videos and talking whilst static is fine.

Arrived quickly.......but I'm left feeling quite disappointed as it's very light and plastic looking.. It also takes 3 triple AAA batteries......which was disappointing, but I've ordered rechargeable batteries and charger.. So I'm hoping it will last my son at least a couple of months.. As it didn't cost a lot so I can't really complain..

Having seen the two good reviews, I had high hopes for this - and I've recently bought a Vivitar still camera that is fab. This item, however, is a pile of crap. It feels like a cheap plastic toy, and the awful touch screen seems to work some of the time - if your fingers are small enough. Worst of all, it just does not seem to focus on anything at all. I've had it inside and out, close up and at distance, and everything just looks awful and blurry. I gave this to my 12 year old daughter yesterday for her birthday, and she was totally underwhelmed. She's previously been using my Aldi £55 video Camera (note this Vivitar was originally retailed at £59.99 - so I think the comparison is valid) to make small movies for Youtube. The cameras are chalk and cheese, and she's now holding my Aldi camera as hostage until I get her something else. The DVR558 would almost be fit for purpose if it was given to a 6 year old and cost less than a tenner. DO NOT BUY.
