This is a brilliant product for the budding artist.
A really imaginative and well designed pattern maker. This is the best one I have come across. The bits all fit into place easily and stay put. The interlocking wheels turn smoothly and don't mis-grip like they do on other similar products. The rotation stencils are fab as you do not know what you are drawing to the end. A pity that there is not more correct size paper in the box - but the paper circles which are suitable for the spinaroo fit perfectly.

I bought this for my daughter's 4th birthday. As a keen 'artist' she really enjoyed using the stencils (although some of them I can't fathom out) and the actual spiro graph 'cogs'. It did take her a couple of attempts to figure out how to set up the cogs and use the kit but when she did she really enjoyed the new patterns that she made. I showed her how to hold down the orange circle of plastic to stop the cogs slipping out and she copied me after that. The cogs do slip out if you're not careful but I think that has always been a problem with spirographs and doesn't really take anything away from it. In fact, its all good for encouraging problem solving. How can we stop it slipping? Should we draw fast or slow? Should we draw hard or soft? It is what you make it.
My only problem was the one black pen and 6 coloured pencils it came with. The pencils have to be sharp to fit through the holes in the cogs. I think it should have come with more colouring pens instead.

This was a gift for my son and so far he's enjoyed playing with it most days, especially the color coded animal pictures which, as he's 3, were a bit easier for him to work with than the spiragraphs. I thought the size, portability and simplicity is great for kids to create with. The only downside that i could see were the grip of the spirograph attachment was a little loose and occasionally popped out. I'd also like to see more built in storage so that it could be carried about.

I only wanted this for the Spirograph element - and all other Spirographs are like £80 a cog or something rediculus, what's more this gives a Realy good affect and I don't think... Read more

not easy to understand how to use this toy
The instructions in the package are difficult to understand and it is not so simple to understand how to use this toy. The manufacturer could have produced better instructions.

Good Fun Toy
