After accidentally playing a damaged tape I was gutted to find that the heads on my Panasonic VHS/DVD machine were so badly fouled that I had lost both picture and sound completely.
Attempts to clean them with a dry type cleaner I already had were unsuccessful so in desperation I bought the Vivanco wet cleaner.
After a couple of cleaning cycles still no luck but a third attempt restored the sound and at least the beginings of a picture too.
A final clean bought the thing back to life again with the normal (excellent) Panasonic picture quality restored so I was well pleased with the £10 the cleaning tape cost.
A professional 'repair' would have cost at least £40 and, knowing my luck, the dealers would have told me that new video heads were needed.
As it is a 'wet' cleaner I left the machine for twenty four hours between each cleaning cycle (and again after the last clean) to allow all traces of solvent to evaporate. The machine is now back in action dubbing my old VHS tapes onto DVDs, all in all this cleaner is highly recommended.
