Format: Audio CD
This is a very complete collection of Vivaldi's choral works, describing just why he is now regarded as just as competent with choral works as with his more commonly-known chamber pieces. Unfortunately, this CD suffers from not having a big, heavyweight work on it, which means that listening to it is mainly restricted to 'wallpaper' music. It's very 'bitty', with each track only lasting a couple of minutes, and after a while you find yourself wondering whether you've heard this bit before, as Vivaldi was an expert at 'recycling' melodies. For all that, it is great for working to, or adding to an atmosphere, and essential as a reference.
