Book Description

30 Jun 2005
Viv Graham's name means many things to many people. A legend in his own lifetime, he worked his way to the very top of the North East's criminal elite until his iron grip on its activities extended to the darkest corner of the underworld. The mere mention of his name would strike dread into the hearts of his enemies and all knew that, if Viv was after you, then hell was coming with him. His frightening capacity for extreme violence was never questioned, and his size and ability to fight enabled him to exert a huge influence on those around him - but he also had a reputation as a hard man with a heart of gold who looked after those that looked after each other. In this frank and astonishing book, Stephen Richards peels away the tissue of lies surrounding the life and death of Viv Graham and, using information from over 350 of Viv's closest friends, family associates, he finally tells the brutal and tragic stories of one of gangland's greatest heroes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard Man 25 Oct 2007
I have no doubt Viv Graham was a hard and respected man, but why do they all end up dead? From Chris Little (stockport) to Vinny Clay (manchester), they never seem very good at staying alive.

All the same, the book is a portrait of a genuine hard man.

5.0 out of 5 stars ADVENTUROUS STUFF 29 Mar 2006
Although a true story, fact is stranger than fiction ... this is an amazing story, it held me and I do like a book that does that. Viv is a character that any woman would want as her man, and any man would not want on his case. I applaud what he did, he rid the area of drug dealers and stood for all what was good, how many men can be put in to that category, not many!

1.0 out of 5 stars Viv Graham by Stephen Richards 23 Jan 2008
Having read the book about Curtis Warren I was looking forward to this one, what a dissappointment. This book tries to glorify a thug pumped up with steriods who like most bouncers use more force then is neccessary against smaller men. The story could have been summed up in half a chapter, the remainder of the book was senseless drivel.
