I really do not wish to poke my head above the parapet and confess to being one of those people who finds DIY something to get terribly excited about but I do work in the building trade and so have a measure of professional interest in things like this. And I must admit on discovering the sealant finisher in some trade mag I was eager as Robbie Williams spotting a can of Red Bull.
Why you cry in unison? Well I'm one of those people who when he has to do any job involving sealant, filler, grout around the home (and for some reason I seem to spend an inordinate amount time arsing around with tubes of sticky DIY materials) seems to end with extraordinary amounts of said material slarted all over his fingers and by association his clothes, and anything else he comes into contact with.
So if you want to avoid fingers that look like some extraordinarily pestilent fungus has sprouted on them this is a very handy little tool. Funnily enough it's finger shaped design means that achieving a smooth expert finish is quite easy .Of course you have to ensure that you don't use too much sealant in the first place to avoid too much overflow and by virtue of it's size there is a limit to how useful it will be for large gaps, though I imagine it will be sufficient for most applications. Easy to clean afterwards as well.
Useful and very, very cheap this is quite possibly the most useful addition to my house since the last very useful thing I bought. Now if only someone can invent a gutter cleaner that you can use without leaving terra firma.
