Nutritional care for mother and baby
Worldwide studies have shown that extra specific nutrients may be necessary before and during pregnancy. Pregnacare has been carefully developed to help safeguard dietary requirements, from the start of trying to conceive, during all of pregnancy, up until the end of breast-feeding.
More than folic acid...
Pregnacare includes the recommended level of 400µg folic acid, plus 10µg vitamin D and 17 vitamins and minerals vital for mother and baby.
Pregnacare is recommended before conception, for women who are trying for a baby.
For neural tube development and cell division early in pregnancy, Pregnacare contains essential vitamin B12, folic acid and zinc.
For all of pregnancy
Good nutritional intake is vital throughout pregnancy, not just the first 12 weeks. Iron, B vitamins and folic acid are also necessary later in pregnancy for blood formation. You can start taking Pregnacare at any point during pregnancy.
Ideal if breast-feeding
Optimum nutrition is important during breast-feeding, which places extra demands on your body.
Effective Support Without Excessive Levels
Because Pregnacare has been specially formulated by experts for pregnancy, it contains certain nutrients at levels above the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA). All ingredient amounts are within safe levels for pregnancy.
To protect your growing child, Pregnacare avoids excessive levels of iron and other nutrients.
Pregnacare does not contain vitamin A, as high levels are not advised in pregnancy. If required, an additional calcium supplement such as Osteocare may be taken with Pregnacare.
In line with the latest research, Pregnacare contains biotin, pantothenic acid and 10mcg vitamin D3, the level now recommended by experts for pregnancy.
