Yet another book that only covers cheap padlocks and "Yale" type locks, nothing whatsoever on mortice locks or lever locks. What it does cover is OK, I suppose, but it misses about 50% of UK lock types.

I bought this book because I fancied giving it a try. I also bought a cheap pick set to play with. This book is informative and easy to understand even for someone who has never done anything like it before.

If you fancy a new hobby I recomend buying this book and giving it a go.

Recently, as a collector of militaria, I have come across items that I want to buy but important keys are missing, protective inner / outer cases could not be opened. So far I have relied upon locksmiths and a friend to open boxes for me.

'Visual Guide to Lock Picking' has given me a greater understanding about locks, how they work and some variations on general themes. Hints and tips are provided and are very welcome.

Since I received my first set of lock picking tools I have been practicing.

Is the book a help? Yes it is. Without it .. I'd stand little chance of making progress.

Good book, but this is the most basic of all the the books I have read on this subject. It does not cover all lock types, although the cover makes you thing this.
