If youre looking for some new and exciting ways of presenting imagery then this book is great. You can see most of whats in the book at visualcomplexity.com and they could have included a little more info about how the images are actually created but I love(d) the book.

I am taking a master of multimedia and my final project is about visualizing information. My bibliography started with Tufte's books about visualization, which I recommend, but I felt the need for something more relevant to big-data. Today data is big and complex so new visualization approaches are required. While searching amazon for visual information I found this book. I strongly recommend it for someone interested on complex information visualization and I agreed with the quote "Manuel Lima might well become the Eduard Tufte of the 21st century" - Creativity
