It is just an ok book 19 Aug 1999

If you are trying to get good understanding of the workings of VB this is not the book. Most of the topics are touched with, sometimes, useless or incomplete examples. However, I have not yet found a good book for VB that gives understanding about internals of VB a bit!

This book provides possibly the best approach (in its formatting) I have ever experienced. I personally believe that to make a book worth buying it has to be readable in format as well as content. This has both - and at a price that makes hard copy still worth paying for! I hesitate to review a book without some critique - the only thing I can think of is that the lack of a CD means I have to carry a heavy book between work and home - but that is not what this book is about anyway! Download the web content to a PDA. Beginner - to - Intermediate, but hold on to it for future reference in areas where you are not yet an expert!

Totally impenetrable. It's fine if you know the subject. If you don't, it might as well be written in Mandarin. If you do know the subject you certainly wont want to use this book, as you'll be wasting your time. Move on to greater things and save yourself some time and money. Take a look at "VB5 Made easy" by Edward Coburn. Even experienced users will enjoy and appreciate this book. It's better thought out and works for you.
