After reading this book, I felt confident that I could program, knowing that I understood each tool. This book is a great read and nothing is found to be hard to understand. All subjects are approached in an easy to understand method, which is fun! His wording isn't all boring! He makes it so simple to understand, and it covers enough topics to get you started. I'm glad I bought this book, and I recommend anyone starting out should consider this as a starting point!

Even if you have no programming experience, if you are familiar with Windows applications and their basic characteristics, you can learn a lot from this book. Minor experience with Visual Basic is a plus as this book will polish the skills you already have and teach you the logic behind object-oriented application development in terms most of us can understand. Those who have had major exposure to VB however, should not buy this book. It will not make you a VB expert.

I decided to learn VB on my own, a lot of people have, and so I took a book home from the library and started reading. I was asleep 3 minutes later. But since I had a genuine desire to learn the program I bought VB for Dummies and to my surprise the book is just fantastic. I've become a fan of the ...For Dummies books just because of this book. If you are serious about learning Visual Basic, then there is no better place to start.
