Book Description

3 Sep 2009
Following on from the success of Visual Aid: Stuff You've Forgotten, Things You Never Thought You Knew and Lessons You Didn't Quite Get Around to Learning, Visual Aid 2 delves deeper into the world of facts and statistics, looking at the informative, useful and quirky things we have all been told about, may have once known, or probably should know. Visual Aid 2 is presented in the same small, accessible size, with fun, unique imagery that appeals to all ages, making this a colourful visually charming book that it is impossible not to get drawn into. Organised thematically, Visual Aid 2 is devoted to the areas of food and cooking; sports and games; the animal kingdom; history; science and society among many others, providing a diverse range of both useful and eccentric information. So if you've ever asked yourself these questions- When did man start to walk upright? , Where's the language of Xhosa spoken? or How many positions are there in yoga? then this is the book for you. Visual Aid 2 presents these facts in a colourful, engaging and distinctly visual way. You won t be able to put it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow-up 24 Sep 2009
By Sponge
Congratulations on a successful and equally engaging follow-up. Plenty of useful and trivial info to entertain and educate. Both books a great gift for all ages. And news of the Visual Aid shop with all pages available as posters an exciting development.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aids a lot 19 Jan 2010
Great for old and young. Nice size, beautifully printed. I bought it originally for a 53 year old and a 14 year old asked me to get him one!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 19 Mar 2010
Well, I have been surprised in a bad way.

In a way, I have been influenced by Amazon to get the two Visual Aids along with Information is Beautiful (which is great, by the way)

In this book, the vectors graphics are very poor, the information badly treated. The inforamtions displayed in are pretty basic and do not bring any of the intellectual excitement you can get from a visual dictionary or information is beautiful.

I would advice to avoid these two.

(As you may have noticed, I'm not a native English speaker, forgive me ^^)

Excellently and graphically informative. Bought one for my granddaughter and loved it so bought one for me! It's a fascinating 'read'.
I have both now and go back to them often.
