Just Skip The Meat Pies 6 Feb. 2011
By leila springer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Even if you have never heard of Methanasia (which I hadn't), this compilation is terrific fun. The contributing authors riff on the characters and play off each other to take the reader deeper and deeper into a very special place, where a vampire hotel night clerk, dwarves, warriors, herbalists, a girl who survives a terrible family tragedy to be propelled into a whole new life in Methanasia, a psychic female assassin, and plenty of travelers come and go.
It's rather like taking a trip with a tour group, where personalities are revealed over time as you explore the customs and daily life of a place you've never been before.
Just, please, skip the meat pies that are proffered as you enter Methanasia. I have a feeling there's a reason they make the dogs whine.
