I bought this map because it was the one offered through the official "Visit Scotland" website ([...]). I expected this map to be the best. It certainly has tons of information and every (or it seems every) little village. My eyeglasses are very good yet I find the map maddeningly difficult to read. It is so cluttered with icons and various symbols that it is very difficult to find the names of the smaller communities, which are printed in about 2-point type. Also, there is no index of villages / towns / cities so heaven help the person who doesn't already know where in Scotland their destinations are! While it is a very useful map, I will be looking for a more legible one at the same scale, as I am planning my first trip to Scotland.

I bought this Touring Map to aid our journey around Scotland.
Sadly it was very difficult to read because the details of 'places to see' rendered
the actual road routes nearly invisible.
