Product Description

"Like all histories that bring a specific time and place vividly to life, "Visionaries is ultimately intensely rewarding. Christian savors his story's rich complexity. . . . Religion and Politics in 1930's Spain 17 Sept. 2012

Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Well-researched and very detailed, like all of Wm. Christian's books on Catholic apparitions in the northern Meditteranean, especially Basque and New Castile, Spain. It's the best volume of micro-history by Wm. Christian after his landmark "Apparitions in Late Medieval and Renaissance Spain." The village of Eskioga in El Pais Vasco (Basque country), the apparition site, resonates most as a mid-point between Fatima, Portugal 1917, and Garabandal, Spain 1962 -- not far from Ezkioga. A widely-seen public miracle, announced in advance, occurred at Fatima and Garabandal.
