Highly disappointing,
By
This review is from: Virtual Pets Key Chain (Electronics)
I have never before left a product review, but felt I really should in this case as no one else has yet on amazon.co.uk. I have since purchasing it looked on amazon.com, which is full of negative reviews of it!....
We bought our son a virtual pet, thinking it would be similar to a tamagatchi - how wrong we were. Whilst initially it was amusing, the functionality is highly flawed. Two of the treatments "disciplining" and "health" did not come up once during the week we persevered with it; my son found this very frustrating. By far the worst fault of the toy is that - despite setting the clock on it - the virtual pet seems to be diurnal, i.e. awake on and off throughout the day AND night...it has no pause button!!! On the second night it woke us 3 times between midnight and 7am! Someone on the amazon.com website suggested leaving it in the "setting the time" position, but even that will only pause it for a few hours - not enough to get through the night. Therefore we resorted to leaving it in a cupboard overnight, however this meant that every morning it had died - which my son found highly disappointing... To conclude, for anyone who wants to play with it occasionally, then fine. But for anyone wanting to look after it as a pet, then really don't waste your money on this! We have paid double now as we have since gone out and bought a genuine tamagachi, which is far superior!

Virtual Pet Toy,

It seems to sleep alot. I can't seem to master the dice game of rock paper and scissors. For the rest it is ok. It is not as good as a tamagotchi, but for its price it is just about decent.
Overall, I wouldn't buy it in hindsight.

Boring!,

I have had this virtual pet device for 2 weeks, and I am already bored out of my brains with it! Yeah, the novelty of being able to choose out of a lot of pets is quite exciting to start with, but it really soon wears off - especially as the pet does not appear to change at all! I chose the 'Bunny' to start with - and after the 2 weeks i have managed to keep it alive and well it hasnt chaged at all, unlike Tamagotchis.
If any one has this and wants to share any advice on it then please do. Do any of the pets actually change form?
