By tradition, sequels are designed to capitalise on a good original - and that's about it. This one is so desperate to get at least something right, that there are plenty of recognizable special effects from the original, which was an entertaining thriller. Other than that - it's a mess. Plenty of tedious naked grapples - but once you've saved your sanity by fast-forwarding through them, there isn't much left. Such plot as there is limps along with no pace, no tension and of little interest to the viewer. No likeable characters, plenty of plastic surgery in evidence, plus the supreme tackiness of Las Vegas, which comes across as the neon-lit backside of the universe, so what emerges from it comes as no surprise. If you see this picture coming, walk the other way: it's a real disaster, not a virtual one.
