5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Top Rockin Tune!!!, 17 Sep 2002

Miss Zoe Rose (Southampton, Hampshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Virginia (Audio CD)
Crispian Mills is back along with ex Straw members Andy Nixon on drums and Dan Mckinna on bass. Very infectious, The Jeevas play rock with a retro feel, and Crispian Mills' vocals sound as melodic, witty and distinctive as ever.
'Virginia', a huge hit on the live scene, manages to capture The Jeevas' rawness and attitude to perfection.
A fantastic new single from a new band to watch!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enter the Jeevas..., 16 Sep 2002
This review is from: Virginia (Audio CD)
When Kula Shaker split, thousands of fans were left questioning 'who can replace the void?'....

The answer is The Jeevas. Crispian Mills returns with a somewhat new sound and new sonic creation. The Psychadelic rush of old is there once more with the story of a 'witch', called virginia. The words are superb, an instant sing along smash at the live gigs i attended. "So many times i tried to kiss her, every time it felt it could have been my sister" sings Mills... Sounds like some of my ex's...

Mills and the band have got off to a great start. 3 years of waiting for the oh so patient fans are rewarded by a great song, album on the way and gigs all over the country.

Oh.... and the words stick in your head....... *goes off singing*

'virginia is a witch.... ba ba ba... oh yeah virginia is a witch........ba ba ba ba ba..............."

5.0 out of 5 stars if you like crispin mills., 23 Nov 2008
By J. coxe - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Virginia (Audio CD)
i have been a big fan of crispin mills and all of his efforts. from kula shaker to the jeevas to kula shaker again he is one of the few artists who has continued to grow and mix the psychodelic sound of the the sixties with a modern pop sensability. if you are a big kula shaker k fan then be warned there is no grateful when your dead or tatva track on this single. but i enjoyed this cd and it is a must for any completist.

5.0 out of 5 stars what's missing in rock and roll, 30 Oct 2002
By stephen j kufske - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Virginia (Audio CD)
This is the first release from former Kula Shaker frontman Crispian Mills. He's been on a three year hiatus has finally come back with a great simple rock and roll song reminiscent of songwriters from the past when rock was God. Similar to Kula Shaker but missing the Indian influences, 'Virginia' is similar to David Bowie's 'Queen Bitch'. Fast paced, fun, and cathy as hell The Jeevas are for anyone who likes rock and roll of the past mixed with a modern take. When the album '1,2,3,4' is released, buy it! It is shocking how simple and stunning it can be. It is simply one of the best rock albums in the past couple of years with the best rebellious rock tune 'Scary Parents'. It is the stuff dreams are made of. And why is it soooo good? Because is catchy and simple and makes you want to shout out the chorus' out loud. Treat yourself to what rock has been missing lately and buy 'Virginia' and it's album '1,2,3,4'.
