Modern day takes on tracks by THE MAN Roy Ayers - mainly housed up remixes but the standout track is the Matthew Herbert version of "Touch of Class" GENIUS at work - mashed up madness!

Classy vibes 20 Dec 2006
By C. G. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
An expansive set of remixes for Mr. Ayers here, most aimed at the dancefloor, along with some eclectic versions for the heads. However, my rating is for the 2 disc version, which was not released domestically. Get it if you can; there are 12 additional mixes on the 2cd set! Make sure you seek out the original Virgin Ubiquity lp as well!

Highly Dissatisfied 14 May 2009
By Roland Wright Jr. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really do not like this version of an otherwise excellent body of work. I thought that the "house" version of this work did a great disservice to the brillance of this classic work. I know that this may have been an attempt to make the genius of this artist relevant to a younger audience, but sometimes it's better for the younger to appreciate and embrace the work of the elder.

If you like formulaic house music... 10 Jun 2006
By B. B. Hawes - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
then this, here, is your bag. If, on the other hand, you like the funkier, soul-jazz side of Mr. Ayers...ain't much of that showin' up. Sounds like catwalk music, except for the Mathew Herbert and the PPP tracks, which are pretty nice. In fact, they've got enough heat to justify buying them alone on an mp3 site. Just don't bother with the rest.
