In the twenty years or so that Vadim Repin has been publshing CDs his playing has been uniformly brilliant, both in terms of musicality and virtuosity.

It is those attributes that propelled the Siberian-born musician onto the international stage at the age of 17, when he won first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 1989. Those attributes have sustained his career since.

In that regard, there were no surprises in this recordong. The musicianship is extraordinary for its depth of understanding and utter command. The phrases are supple; the tone varied from sweet to edgy; the line long; the architecture coherent.

An another magnificant album; enjoy

I had never listen to Vadin Repin before and I must say that his performance, specially in Grieg's sonata for violin and piano is unbeatable. This young violin virtuoso performs at very top level so that you will never be able to do anything different than to make yourself comfortable next to your HiFi set and listen very carefully. A truly enjoyable experience!

Lugansky and Repin make a perfect duo. Lugansky is one of my favourite pianists of all time ( his Rachmaninov 3 is awesome ). This is a beautifully played recital.
