From the Back Cover

"One of the finest short story writers around."
Locus

In elegant prose he tells of an elaborate archaeological hoax; what happened when Enola Gay crashed on a routine exercise, before in could drop the bomb on Hiroshima; a Dixieland revival in the far reaches of the galaxy; a confrontation with eternity atop a snowy Californian mountain…

Peopled by diverse characters whose experiences speak to us directly, the stories revolve around questions of history and meaning, leaving us to reflect on how what we know about the past influences the way we look at the present and the future.
