I purchased this book as part of a set of books as a gift for a young boy. Although I knew the wording would be too advanced for him the pictures are quite captivating and will hopefully be a nice introduction to art.

I bought this for my little boy as he grow up to get him more into art. I would have liked a couple of ideas of little art progects to go with it but it is fabulously written from a childrens point of view and although I though it a bit beyond my Five year old yet, School are doing a project about Holland so I took it in and so many teachers have commented about how good the book is and have been reading it to each class at infants.

My 8-year old daughter had this book with her on our way to an art museum. She read all about Van Gogh in a way that made it easy and fun. Then she was able to compare paintings at the musuem to what she had read! I would recommend this and plan to buy other books in the series.
