Product Description

Astra has finished her training and is now a full-fledged Sentinel, but things are not going well. She suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and the public revelation of her relationship with Atlas has caused her popularity to nose-dive.

To complicate things, the Teatime Anarchist's intervention has changed the course of events--leaving her with lots of knowledge about the way the future was before the Big One, a complete future-history that is now out of date.

And just when she thinks she's getting a handle on things, unfolding events (a bank-robbery and a horrific murder) show that one of the nastier pieces of the old future isn't so out of date after all; unless she solves a murder before it happens, Blackstone is going to die.

Very good series. 2 Jan 2012
By Jessie K. Hamlan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Since I purchased my kindle last summer, I have found myself reading many things I might not have tried when I had to actually buy the book to read them. I have always loved comics, but was never much into superhero novels. I decided to give Wearing The Cape a try simply because I was bored and it was a cheap Amazon recommendation for me. I was completely blown away, by Mr. Harmon's world, and writing. Astra was just very relate-able and well developed. I just Hoped the book wasn't a one trick pony. It wasn't.
Mr Harmon has continued the story started in the first book in a very engaging and logical continuation to his story. I was worried that the initial episodic format would limit the story as it went forward, but Mr. Harmon has definitely done it again. highly recommended.

An excellent read from and excellent author 9 Feb 2012

I picked up the first in this series after getting an amazon recommendation from reading Jim Berheimers Confessions of a D list Supervillain. This book does NOT disappoint. Both this and it's rpedecessor are great examples of the super hero genre with humanity woven into it. Heroes are strong but vulnerable and rely on each other to survive. There are powers in here that haven't really been touched on heavily by any other writers. If only the TV series Heroes had followed this storyline it might have survived. For the cost you can't go wrong and you will be supporting a writer who deserves it.

The Rare Case of the Sequel Being Better Than the First Book 31 Jan 2012
By Michael - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the first novel but I liked this one even more. With the exception of the opening scene (groan), the book stayed nicely grounded and seemed a bit more laid back than the first. Characters felt more 'lived in' and real. I was also pleased by the fact that the characters took precedent in the story and that the fate of the world wasn't in the balance. Not every story has to have earth shattering implications. Give me a nice, tight story that moves along and gives our heroes room to grow. That's what we got here and it worked.

Astra again rose to the challenge proved she was worthy of Atlas' legacy. If her place as a favorite heroine wasn't cemented after the first book, it is now.

At first, I was a bit dismayed at the lack of page time for Artemis until Things Changed(tm). Fans of Artemis have a great deal to look forward to in this book and the coming sequel (Yes!). I'll admit that a certain scene brought a tear to my eye. Considering the nature of the sequel, the symbolism in that scene is quite poignant.

Note to the author: This book finally coming out in its collected form was a significant factor in my decision to finally pick up a Kindle. If the sequel wasn't going to be released in print form then, well, I guess I was going to have to break down and get a Kindle.
