Book Description

29 Oct 2009 Turnham Malpas 12

With the Rector Peter Harris and his family back from Africa, the villagers of Turnham Malpas heave huge sighs of relief - everything seems to be back to normal. But Peter has other ideas, and decides to return to Africa to fulfil his promise of working there for a year, leaving his family behind.

The villagers are also missing Peter's guidance, especially when the store is the target of petty theft and violence. Everyone is relying on Peter's return to help restore harmony. But will he make it back before things get out of hand?

Review

'Another rural delight' (PETERBOROUGH EVENING TELEGRAPH )

'A Village Feud confirms for me why Rebecca Shaw's novels are so readable. Her characters never stray into cliche and just when you think things are becoming a little too cosy, something comes out of left field to completely unsettle you. They're also very funny.' (NEWS LETTER (N.I) )

'Rebecca Shaw gleefully guides us around the lanes of Turnham Malpas, in this brightly entertaining view of village life.' (GOOD BOOK GUIDE )

'A good holiday read, packed with interesting characters and plenty of action' (WESTERN DAILY PRESS ) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Book Description

A delightful slice of Turnham Malpas gossip, intrigue and conflict from the SUNDAY TIMES bestselling author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 28 July 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having read all the others, was really looking forward to this one but was hugely disappointed. Two good story lines squeezed into one book and neither had justice done - Peter & family in Africa and the effects of a "caretaker" vicar on the villagers & the strange newcomers and all the problems they brought with them. In the end felt it was disjointed as the author jumped from one to another. Sudden conlusions. Not her usual easy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Village Feud 21 April 2006
Format:Hardcover
I really enjoyed this book, Rebecca Shaw has done it again by keeping you gripped from start to finish. for me it was the mixture of comedy, serious and you just don't want to put the book down so you wouldn't miss anything. It took me less than 2 days to read the book. I would recommend the book to anyone who has followed the series. Can't wait for the next installment of the Turnham Malpas series. Well done Rebecca Shaw!

It is a good series and I like the author's way of writing, no unnecessary swearing or violence, but interesting story lines.
