Even giving herself to a Viking warrior who teaches her not all men are monsters – but who seems incapable of love...

Praise for THE VIKING’S DEFIANT BRIDE:

‘Fulford’s story of lust and love set in the Dark Ages is reminiscent of Woodiwiss’ The Flame and the Flower.’ – RT Book Reviews

An absorbing and exciting tale which takes us vividly into the Viking era. Lady Anwyn is beautiful, corageous and capable and a devoted mother to her young son for whom she is prepared to make any sacrifice.

Wulfgar is strong and handsome, a leader of men, he keeps both his past and his emotions to himself. Their story is unusual and full of surprises, keeping the reader in suspense right to the end.

It has to be said though, that the portrayal of Wulfgar on the cover of the book is disappointing, it bears little resemblance to the dark haired fighting man of the story, so 'don't judge the book by it's cover' (as I nearly did) or you will miss out on a great read.

By Book Addict TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
"The Viking's Touch" is a sweet historical romance, but I found it somewhat formulaic:

Feisty beautiful widow Lady Anwyn has some unwelcome attention from the unpleasant Lord Ingvar.
Viking Wulfgar and his crew are on their way to battle when their boat is damaged and they return to shore for repairs.
Anwyn asks Wulfgar for protection and they marry.
The marriage is supposed to be in name only but neither can deny their attraction to each other.
Wulfgar acts stupidly, leaves and endangers Anwyn and her young son.
Wulfgar returns to save the day, admit he loves Anwyn and settles in to life as a caring husband and father.

The pace is rather sedate throughout the majority of this book, but there are sparks of action. The ending is the best part (not meant sarcastically); as Wulfgar faces his enemy Ingvar there are some exciting, dramatic scenes, plus the ending is very, very sweet. I think this author gave a good feel of the life of this era, especially Anwyn; who may be rich and titled but is ultimately vulnerable as an unmarried woman. Her budding romance with Wulfgar is quite tender plus the additional characters (Anwyn's young son and her ally Ina and members of Wulfgar's crew) enhance the story. 3½ stars

Victorious Viking 7 Jan 2012
By Mrs. D. J. Smith VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
The Viking's Touch appears to be a sequel to an earlier book by the same author, but it can be read as a standalone novel - I know because I hadn't read the previous story!

My usual historical romances tend to tend to be set mainly in the Regency period, so this was a bit of a change for me. It took a little while to get into, but overall I thought it was a good story with strongly drawn characters. A bit more violent and bloodthirsty than your average Regency, I have to admit, but as a change I did enjoy it.

The protagonists, Anwyn and Wulfgar were both sympathetic characters, but carrying a great deal of emotional baggage from their pasts. Ignvar is maybe a character who is a bit too black to be real as he doesn't appear to have a single redeeming feature, but on the bright side you do feel like cheering when he finally gets his comeuppance, and this sort of book is really about making you feel good, so I guess that van't be a bad thing!
