Product Description

Product Description

Viking Components physically tests their flash cards, such as the Viking 256 MB CompactFlash Card, with hundreds of devices including laptops, PDAs, digital audio players and digital cameras. When you purchase a Viking flash card, you can be assured that it will perform flawlessly with your specific device. Furthermore, Viking uses only the highest quality components to make flash memory, which results in fast, reliable, durable flash products.

There are many obvious benefits of buying a Viking Flash Card:

Increased speed: with a larger flash card you will spend less time transferring files to or from your computer or laptop and more time taking pictures with your digital camera, listening to music on your digital audio player or storing more information on your PDA.

Increased power: increasing the memory storage for your digital camera, PDA or MP3 player will enable you to do more with a device. For example, if you are taking pictures on your digital camera using the highest resolution and highest quality setting, an image taken from a two megapixel camera can be as large as 6 MB. This can eat up storage space quickly, so it's easy to see the benefits of increasing your device's flash memory.

It is important to purchase memory that is guaranteed to be compatible with a device because of the many subtle differences between the hundreds of different brands, types and configurations of digital devices on the market. A product that accepts one particular brand or capacity of memory does not necessarily accept another brand or capacity--and there's nothing more frustrating than buying something you can't use.

5.0 out of 5 stars If Viking did 256mb Flash cards, they'd probably be the...!, 22 Jan 2003
I bought the Viking compact flash card after searching for a long time for a reasonably priced 256Mb card, and so far nothing has come close to the value here on Amazon for this card.

The card arrived when predicted, I popped it into my Canon Ixus V3, and have been very happy snapping ever since. No glitches, no worrys, no compatibility problems, it just works as advertised, and I can take as many pictures as I want without fear of running out of space!

I couldn't recommend it more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says, 9 Dec 2002
Excellent price. I use a Minolta Dimage 5.2 MegaPixel digital camera and 256Mb is enough for 100 pictures at good resolution. I ordered the Viking compact flash card: it arrived within 3 days and works perfectly. No more to say. End of story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Minor Problems but Amazing Value, 19 April 2003
By J. Plackett (London, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought the Viking 256mb card for my IXUS V3. Fifty Quid seemed pretty damn good.

The card's just as fast as the 16mb one that came with my camera, but now I can take 130 odd photos in highest detail, instead of about 9. Nice.

The only problem I've had is what my camera describes as a 'CF card error' on one of the pictures which I keep on my card, to show friends and such-like. It won't display on the camera, but seems to download fine. I protected the image so i couldn't delete it, so maybe it's confused because of that.

Excellent value though, something similar will set you back £65+P&P at Jessops.co.uk, and god knows how much on the high-street. If you've got a high resolution digital cam, or for are too lazy to regularly transfer your images to a pc, buy it.
