I bought this product on Boxing Day & it arrived New Years Eve - it's being returned in the New Year - here's the pros & cons of the device...
On 1st looks, it looks good, feels sturdy, but it also feels heavy (not too much of an issue - the device is comfortable to hold in either left or right hand in the horizontal position)
Immediately after you power up the device, you hear the processor fan which is quite loud - a small quiet office & the device on a hard flat surface & you'll be wondering where the fly in the room is!
The device powers up quickly into GRUB (Android boot-loader) - and you get 5 seconds to choose which OS to select - you can pre-select these in bios (*note* you'll need an external keyboard to do any bios settings)
Android v1.6 (v2.1/v2.2 due next year) runs very speedy, in fact it could give the iPad a run for it's money on this device - I don't use Android so can't really commentate on everything but it seamed very responsive on the web & You Tube videos appeared nice and smooth
Windows 7 - now here's where I felt let down. Booting up no problem, using Windows 7 no problem - the Windows Experience Index is 2.3 (Processor is 2.3, Memory is 4.5, GFX (aero) is 3.1, GFX is 3.0 & SSD is 5.9) - Now at this point you are seeing poor CPU, average GFX & fast SSD/HDD, but don't be fooled - that SSD has 2.8Gb free space on it! Yep, that's right <3Gb of usable space on a freshly opened machine straight out of the box - I was severely disappointed! (btw, I should point out that you could fit a good 32Gb SD Card to supplement the storage space but performance would be reduced)
Other than that, Windows 7 actually runs as you would expect a medium quality net-book to run. not brilliantly, but just enough to get by with.
The 2 things which mean I'm sending it back are - 1. Noisy Fan & 2. 2.8Gb free space - you could fill that with a download of photos from a digital camera so quickly!
2/5 Stars (Windows Use) 3/5 Stars (Android Use - even though v1.6)
