I've used this monitor for a few months now, and it's been good. I've had no problems with brightness and contrast, and the resolution is high enough for my gaming needs. The built in speakers are fairly poor, but they're built in speakers, so that's to be expected. I use a reasonable pair of headphones instead at almost all times. One minor niggle is sometimes the on/off button can be a bit finicky when you press near the edge and too lightly, though that's rarely a problem.

After two days of deciding on a hdmi monitor to buy i decided to purchase this one. And what a great decision it was! The price is superb for what you get. I very nearly bought an LG or a Benq simply because i had heard of those makes and having had an LG previously. Having read various reviews i went for the Viewsonic. It arrived two days after ordering which is very impressive! so top marks Amazon!.
The box included two power leads, dvi and d-sub which again impressed me becuase i wasnt expecting a dvi lead from the reviews i had read. I had purchased this monitor mainly for my PS3 so straight away i tested it out. That is a simple task. Plug in the hdmi lead and away you go. The quality of the picture is fantastic and as good as my hd tv. The sound from the speakers are also very very good and as a result i have ditched the amplifier i used to use (for the time being at least!) so anyone considering a monitor for ps3 use this is the one to go for!
Next was trying it on my PC. Another simple enough task. This was a dvi connection and the computer recognised it immediately. The only thing i had to change was the resolution and orientation of the backdrop of windows as it was half way off the screen but this took 20 seconds to sort out as the menu is dead simple. The picture is great. Its not too bright and the icons are very smooth.
The overall appearance of the monitor is stunning. What impressed me was the power button as this is placed in the middle along the bottom of the screen. To sum up this monitor is well worth the money and you will not be dissapointed!

I have to say when i got this screen i was having some issues of my own doing because i had it set up for my ps3 rather than my iMac so it was cutting the edges of the picture, however i soon fixed this and it has amazed me at the quality of the image! It isn't as good as the iMac screen but it gives it a run for the money, especially being so cheap compared. I also wasn't expecting the speakers to be that great but i was amazed yet again. They aren't speakers you would want to use for a computer such as the iMac because the iMacs speakers are phenomenal! However for casual gaming where you don't require too much bass they are perfect!
I would definitely recommend this screen, especially for the price!

I ordered this monitor for a client but decided to field test it for 1/2 day. I'm very impressed, colours are strong but not excessively so and the overall text legibility at its native resolution is superb. One thing that's not mentioned much is the anti-glare nature of the screen. If you use your monitor for extended periods (I know we should take a rest periodically) you will appreciate this enormously. I was considering an iMac for personal use as I do quite a lot of image processing with Photoshop but what I've realised is that the glossy screens can be very tiring as your eyes end up trying to focus on the screen plane and the reflections at the same time. This monitor is so good I'm now just considering upgrading my existing 15" early LCD with this model rather than a full system upgrade to a monitor I'm unsure about. I must say the rendition of photographic images is leaps and bounds better than my existing screen and shows aspects of them I was totally unaware of.
Personally the speakers are fine for what I need, not interested in hi-fi but just fine for hearing e.g. video commentary and a bit of MP3 playback.
P.S. The model I received has a compete black (shiny!) surround unlike the mixed silver/black in the advert but to me that's a bonus. Great screen.

I went through many many monitors until I narrowed it down to a few. Then I decided to go with this one. Damn it was a good decision!
This monitor is absolutely awesome, the quality is crisp, clean and sharp. IMO I'm surprised this hasn't sold more. I bought this monitor for my gaming PC, played games such as Dead Space 2, L4D2 etc etc. and loving the quality.
There is only 1 thing I can fault this monitor on, that is the speakers. Not very loud or powerful at all, but it doesnt really matter. I use my headphones more and people tend to have separate speakers anyway.
This is well worth your money, I'd recommend you to buy it.

"Ordered on Thursday and was delivered Monday morning so am pleased with very quick delivery!
As for the monitor it is excellent quality!
Simply plug into your computer and your ready to go... I also use this for my Xbox360 and it is better quality than my 1080p 32in TV.
Although a DVI cable was supplied I used my HDMI Lead purchased on ebay for no more than £2
The speakers are very good also!"
