About the Author

Rose LOVES watching videos. She watches them all day...until the video breaks down. Rick, Rose's brother, tries to fix it, but fails. Then they get a strange old man to fix it. He fixes it with a touch of his hand and when he shakes Rose's hand, she can magically rewind into her past in reception class at school, and fast forward into her future job, a film director!
This is an exciting and imaginative book for 8-10 year olds.

This is a great book which kids will love. I actually stayed up after my bedtime (don't tell mum) to get it finished. It's an absolutely fabulous one for the video lovers! and definitely a great fiction story about a girl called Rose who loves her videos and to make it worse her Uncle owns a video store ! Her video gets broken and there's shock and horror in the house so they
find a man to fix it and then it works like magic, he just touches it and it's fixed. Rose gets a shock to find that she can fast forward and rewind her life just like a video so as you can imagine there's lot's of adventure in store for Rose.... I recommend that you read this !

Video Rose, written by Jacqueline Wilson (one of my favourite authors), and was published in 1992 by Penguin publishers. Janet Robertson (who draws a lot for many different authors) illustrated it skilfully and very neatly. This book is great for children who are over the age of 7 or 8 up to the age of 14 or 15 because adults are far too boring to read such a good and exciting book like this one. I think girls would like this book better than boys would but I might be wrong. The plot is Rose adores the video player and she dreads the day that it breaks down. Fortunately, a strange man fixes it for only one pound but also he also gives her the power to fast-forward and rewind her own life, which changes nearly everything.
