Works with OSX 10.3.9 to latest OSX Lion 10.7.3 (tested 02/02/2012). Works with all the current iMac, Mini, Macbook & Pro models. The supplied Videoglide software captures video directly to a file on your hard drive & supports direct capturing in MPEG-4, H.264 (iPod, iPhone & iPad) & uncompressed YUV422 formats. Footage can then be imported into an iMovie project and edited. Once happy, you can burn your project to DVD using iDVD. Captures at full DVD resolution 720x576 PAL. Will keep capturing for as long as you have hard drive space available. Will keep video & audio in sync throughout when used with iMovie & iDvd. I have loaded the software (easy) and started transferring small video tapes direct from my video camera and also large normal size tapes from my video player/. Both worked really well. I have watched films which were great quality (no reduction in transfer) but not tried to edit in iMovie yet. Only problem I found was, if you transfer film after film, video capture seems to work better if you close the software and reopen for each film - takes a moment. Otherwise I experienced 'cut outs' with recording stopping every few minutes on films which were recorded after another. However I am really not computer savvy and could have been doing something wrong! Really pleased with this product as it's saved me a fortune!!!

I chose this product over others such as Roxio as all reviews I read commented on its ease of use. I entirely agree. I had no problems setting it up although I am still not clear how the "button" on the connector works! I ran the program from the key board. I did end up with a massice number of files on my hard disk so that I nearly ran out of space! The instructions should have been clearer about how you import the clips into iPhoto (and thence into iMovie). It is important to <MOVE> files, not <COPY> them! I think this is why I used up so much space! But overall this is an excellent piece of kit.
