I have loaded the software (easy) and started transferring small video tapes direct from my video camera and also large normal size tapes from my video player/. Both worked really well. I have watched films which were great quality (no reduction in transfer) but not tried to edit in iMovie yet. Only problem I found was, if you transfer film after film, video capture seems to work better if you close the software and reopen for each film - takes a moment. Otherwise I experienced 'cut outs' with recording stopping every few minutes on films which were recorded after another. However I am really not computer savvy and could have been doing something wrong! Really pleased with this product as it's saved me a fortune!!!

Very good, slight criticism,

I chose this product over others such as Roxio as all reviews I read commented on its ease of use. I entirely agree. I had no problems setting it up although I am still not clear how the "button" on the connector works! I ran the program from the key board. I did end up with a massice number of files on my hard disk so that I nearly ran out of space! The instructions should have been clearer about how you import the clips into iPhoto (and thence into iMovie). It is important to <MOVE> files, not <COPY> them! I think this is why I used up so much space! But overall this is an excellent piece of kit.
