The main blade doesn't lock and is less than three inches long which means that this knife is a legal carry in many places (though obviously that's up to the individual buyer to check up on the specifics for themselves). This knife is also even better built than its red plastic handled cousins, with an even thicker main blade and sturdier aluminium scales. It's built to last, very well priced and has the most important tools without being too bulky.
If you're worried about it not havings scissors/ toothpick/ tweezers think about pairing it up with a tiny Victorinox Classic SD Swiss Army Pocket Tool knife for a very useful but still lightweight combination. If you're not likely to use the (excellent) saw much save yourself a little weight and bulk and pick up the equally well made Victorinox/ Wenger Solidier Swiss Army Knife (92mm) model instead

If you are halfway up a ladder or somewhere too far to go and get the exact tool you need, carrying this knife in your pocket might save you some time and hassle. Its very sturdy and the woodsaw is better then you might expect, it cuts on the forward and backward stroke and the aluminium handles (rather than the red plastic ones) are very tough. If you are a gardner or electrician you might want the similiar but harder to find Harvester or Electrician plus knife. As for carrying this on you everyday...well that depends on what your needs are. I have a selection of Victorinox tools for use during everyday office work or travelling on business, cycling off road or camping etc.

If you need a small woodsaw occasionally, the Farmer's a good buy - but I've found over the years that these saws tend to get blunt fairly fast if used on seasoned hardwoods - so I only use them for cutting greenwood while out walking. For taking an occasional hazel or ash pole from a coppiced base it's just fine.
The blade's thicker than the plastic handled SAKs, and takes a wicked edge if carefully sharpened. The awl is a very useful tool on occasion, and the other two tools do their jobs quite well - although the flat blade screwdriver won't take much applied torque before distorting its blade so be warned.
If you don't want the keyring fitting and don't need the saw, get the Soldier model instead - otherwise it's the same Alox knife, and has the virtue of being slightly lighter and slimmer than the Farmer. Town dwellers are hardly likely to need a pocket saw very often so for them the soldier's probably a better bet.

Wrong name
