I'd been looking around for a good quality, decent value chopping knife that could be a back-up to our much used, more expensive blade. Read about the Victorinox brand on a chef's blog page - where it was mentioned that you couldn't beat this for a home knife. And they were right! It has stayed sharp after many uses, it's light and very pleasant to use. I've just logged on to buy more sizes in the same range.

A very ergonomic knife, sits well in the hand and doesn't slip. I have been using mine in a commercial kitchen for 2 years and it's still razor sharp. It must have been through the dishwasher a thousand times and is still doing the trick, for the money you really can't go wrong.

A very sharp piece of kit. I ran it up my arm and it shaved the hair off (a first for a kitchen knife for me).
The handle is nicely ergonomic and 'grippy'. It looks totally sealed and strong and dishwasher proof.
I don't know how easy it will be to sharpen, but I would think its slim profile and good quality steel would mean it would be a doddle!
