5.0 out of 5 stars Best Swiss Army Knife 13 Sep 2007
All Swiss Army knives are great - unbeatable quality and they'll last forever. Having said that, the climber is the best Swiss Army Knife in my opinion, it has the best combination of tools that actually get used - can & bottle openers, blade, scissors, tweezers. Having one of the giant ones just isn't necessary and you end up not taking it anywhere because it's too heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't live without it 25 April 2008
I was bought a swiss army climber about 6 or 7 years ago by my mother. since having it I have found all the blades useful with the possible exception of the multi purpose hook, but I am not a climber. Presumably if I was this would be the icing on the cake.

Every other blade has been used often, even the reamer although I always thought reaming was an intimate pastime. If this is so, although my innocence can't confirm it, I would suspect this tool is not named with that (whatever it is) in mind.

It is compact as swiss army knives go. It fits well in the pocket and for all it does, it is not obtrusive or heavy. You will at some point need spares, the tweezers and toothpick do go walk about. These are available for 2-3 pounds each. I have lived for many years without either but at some point when you have a few pence in your pocket you will want them, and before that day you will miss them so you might as well buy them as soon as they go missing.

I would advise you, if you do buy this knife to also buy an extendable cord keyring because you will want the certainty that an extendable cord will give you, in that your knife will always be attached to a belt loop, and also whilst being firmly tied to the device you will still be able to use it. I once lost mine for 6 months and many times during that period I cursed my absent mindedness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got me out of trouble 16 Feb 2011
I got this product for Christmas, very pleased as I`d always wanted one. You actually use all the pullouts at some stage, in fact apart from the scissors ( I use the kitchen scissors) , I have made use of all the others in the last 2 months. Thank goodness for the Knife Climber, because it got me out of trouble. My Fiancee had played a rotten trick on me, tying my shoe laces together when I was fast asleep on the sofa. When I woke up, she`d gone out to her mothers 3 streets away, leaving me virtually unable to walk. The door bell rang and I looked out the window to see the Indian Take Away Delivery Man outside with our order. As I couldn`t get to the front door in time, he was walking away after ringing the door bell three times. Ah ha, my knife was in my back pocket and I cut the laces and ran to open the door. Supper was saved by the knife and my Fiancee returned, laughing of course. I said the knife had saved our supper, but due to her childishness I only gave her one of the four popodams.
