Lee Jackson has a well developed eye for Victorian London. Even as 21st century London -- all muscular, glassy, and filled with petrol belching machines and noxious industrial sound -- streams around us Jackson's book brings a pivotal age alive through beautiful photographs and historical narrative.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well illustrated and researched 20 May 2012

Format:Hardcover
This is an interesting walk around Victorian London, how it was and what remains of it, grouped around interesting subjects such as Crime ans Punishment and Food and Drink. It is a large coffee table book, it would be useful in a smaller format that could be carried around. One of the better books about London.
