This book was purchaed as a research tool for Dollshouse miniatures it was a good buy and has proved useful on a number of occasions.

I am currently making a Victorian themed dolls house and wanted a reference book for ideas. This has a lot of ideas, but I would have preffered more actual pictures of room settings and less drawings of items.

I was surprised that whilst there are a lot of pages this book is smaller in size than I expected, being slightly wider than A5. However this makes it easy to carry in a bag and look at on bus/train or in bed but you need your reading glasses! Text very small although there is not much of it.
There is very little text but some authentic colour pictures and photographs. The pictures are as small as the book page, there is not a lot of colour and some details are not that easy to see.
Slightly disappointed to see so many black and white drawings/reproductions of specific features but I guess you will need this if you are authentically renovating a Victorian house and wish to be strict about style of the period.
This is not a book to be left out for decoration but one packed full of graphic detail and perfect to carry around with you for reference when looking for things for your Victorian house.
Now that I have re-written this review after initially giving my first impressions, I will stick with three stars. It is not "a good read" but useful for reference purposes if renovating a Victorian property is your project.

The wife absolutely loved it!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife who absolutely loved it and now of course wants the others in the series - still it saves me having to think what to buy her!
