5.0 out of 5 stars "The Smoke That Roars" 13 April 2013
By Tiffany Stone Miller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Even though written in 1997 this is a super read for anyone going to Vioctoria Falls. I did and had even incorporated the described walk along the falls into my itinerary so I could follow it when there. It was a fantastic experience.
If you sit in an "A" seat when flying into Victoria Falls you will be able to see the mist from them off the tip of your plane's wing.
I even had the privilege of staying at the Victoria Falls Hotel which was wonderful. It was one of the top 25 in the world when the book was written. That was a lovely experience. It has beautiful grounds and the scenery of the Railroad Bridge and river below are wonderful. Don't miss the waterfalls way off on the right hand side only seen from the far left hotel exits. There are also a family of warthogs that lunch on the lawn as well as a cavorting baboon who scampers past now and then.
Even though not a long read, there is much interesting info through out the book. I enjoyed reading it immensely as it prepared me well for my journey.
