Penetrating the nasal, sinus and throat passages quickly and effectively, the Personal Steam Inhaler provides simple treatment in 5-15 minutes.
How it works:
Simply fill with tap water (add water only). The inhaler gently boils the water providing a steady flow of warm moist air that can help clear blocked sinus's. Flow of steam is controlled easily by moving the Vent Lever clockwise to increase steam, or counter clockwise to lower steam flow. Essential for anyone who needs to breathe easier!

It sorted out my sinitis,
By Jag K (West Mids) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vicks Personal Steam Inhaler V-1200-X-UK (Personal Care)
I purchased this because I was suffering from sinitis. Using it twice a day for a few days, it cleared it up. It is a steamer only (so you can not use it with vapour/menthol/oil products - its for use with plain water only).
I almost didn't buy this based on the other review - I'm wondering if the other review was intended for the other Vicks Model (V-1300UK). As this product is purely a steamer, and you can not use the vapour products that the other reviewer said he used with the product. In fact a lot of the criticisms made by the other reviewer conflict with the instructions supplied with the product. The steam does get quite hot (but I would rather have this than some of the other products on the market which don't get hot enough to do anything), but you can control it with the adjustable control, and as the instructions say, you can simply move your head up 1 or 2 inches to further control the amount of heat you need. Again as the instructions say, the plastic cover is not for supporting your head, but simply to channel the steam to your nose and mouth area. The instructions also make it clear that you only need to use the product for 5mins-15mins at a time. I basically used it for 5mins twice a day, to start getting some relief from sinitis. I would have given it 5 stars if it had the ability to use menthol/oils as well. At the end of the day, I bought it for my sinitis, and it definitely gave me relief from that, that I would not have got as quickly without using the product.

No nonsense, does what it says, fairly well made, breathing deeply tends to keep the heat under control. Gets pretty hot if you let it boil dry.....!

Helping my sinusitis,
By MIG (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vicks Personal Steam Inhaler V-1200-X-UK (Personal Care)
This steam inhaler is definitely helping. I have been using it for four days now following a serious flare-up of my sinusitis. On the first day I found the steam too hot but now I have got more used to it I am able to tolerate more heat. Also I have found that breathing out through my mouth into the inhaler helps keep the steam level at a manageable level as some of the steam then goes out of a vent hole. Before having this gadget I used a bowl of water with Karvol in it and a towel. The problem was the steam stopped being hot enough after about 3 minutes. With the Vicks inhaler you can use it fo 15 minutes which is a big improvement. I have started putting Vicks vaporub under my nose while using it. It doesn't get onto the inhaler but does go up my nose. You are not meant to put any oils etc into the steamer. You can adjust the steam level but I have always used the minimum setting so far.
