The vibrating feature doesn't really add much but I couldn't find just one of those plain 'nobbly' massagers (that you often see in gift sets?) so plumped for this one. Not great value for money but not too expensive either. To be honest it has been more entertainment for my toddler - who also discovered that you shouldn't really drop it on the floor as the back comes off easily and batteries ping out! It's now on a high chest of drawers out of reach of little fingers...
You could use this with massage oils but can't really get it too messy due to the feet and legs being separate (which would be a tricky to clean) the balled "feet" are just pushed on so there would be a chance of getting moisture in the gaps. I chose this animal as I thought it would be more ergonomic to hold, but it is actually a bit too large to fit in the palm of your hand so not ideal. If you're after a small gift then this is the one - if you want a good massager that is comfy to use and can be used with oils etc. I'd shop about a bit more. As it was, this was only a gimicky gift to wrap up with a gift voucher for an actual massage with a sports therapist as a birthday gift - for which it fitted the bill :o)
