I have had my Vibe Duo earphones now for around 14 months. I like the styling, comfort and sound quality from the earphones and the microphone also works well when I am hands-free in the car. Unfortunately, however, the left earphone in the first pair I bought stopped working after around 4 months use and I had to return them under warranty. Although the manufacturer did provide a replacement without any questions, I had to send them back to the USA and the whole process took about 3 weeks, which was a pain. The replacement set has now just stopped working, with the same fault as the first set - no audio from the left ear. This time I am going to ditch V-Moda and try to find a more robust product.

I bought these headphones about 3 months ago even though some of the reviews said they had problems.

Initially i was very happy with them, the sounds quality is exceptional, very nice bass, and i could hear parts of percussion that i didn't even know was there. It is almost like listening to music on a high end stereo system in your living room.

I also found them very comfortable and previously had problems finding in ear headphones which wouldn't drop loose.

However, after about 2 months the sound in the left earphone just stopped working. There was no crackling or anything i just went to use them one day and no sound.

I spoke with VModa and like the reviewer above had to ship them to the USA which took about 3 weeks. VModa were very good at replacing them but they MUST know this is problem.

The annoying thing is that customers in America can upgrade to the new Vibe II's for about $40 but no such thing exists for the rest of the world.

This review would be 5/5 if it wasnt for the obvious problem of the sound failing. I really hope it doesn't happen with my replacement pair since as i say, the quality is amazing. If i experience problems this time i will be demanding a full refund and wont be purchasing anything from VModa again.

It's your call if you want to take the risk with them stopping working. Perhaps an email to VModa asking if the issue has been addressed would be wise before purchasing.

Edit 2: Received another set under warranty (need to pay for delivery to US), this next set then also gave up after about 4 months, same problem, but this time the left ear stopped working. Am now expecting the 2nd warranty set sometime soon. I guess if you are prepared to mess about with warranty replacements every few months...

Edit 25th June 2010: Now not working. Sound not coming out from right ear bud. Great :(

Don't seem to be able to adjust rating, would downgrade.

have had these for 2 months now and like them a lot. Gives strong bass, so much so that if you got the same bass from big speakers you'd feel it through your whole body. I much prefer bass-heavy sound compared with headphones with a lack of bass, to balance it out I've used my iPhone's equaliser to thin the bass out a bit.

Calls with my iPhone 3G are clear, no one has commented about any problems with my voice at their end, so all good. The click mic works well, although the button is quite small. The button can also be used to control iTunes music: 1-click to stop/start, 2-clicks to skip to the next track, 3-clicks to skip backwards.

Quality seems good so far, though I'm a bit worried by other reviewers who seem to have had problems.

Overall a good mid-range purchase.

Great set of In-Ear Pods - but don't set the expectation bar too high!
These headphones are excellent value for money and provide a very bass driven sound.
I agree with the other reviewers in regards to quality and possibly life-span but when... Read more

Excellent for listening, poor for speaking
These produce the best sound of any earphones I've had in years, but unforunately they are rubbish as a telephone headset. Other parties could never hear me properly. Read more

What iPhone Functionality?
Having expected a quality item to be delivered i was disappointed on first opening the package as the headphones feel very light and flimsy verging on tacky. Read more

V-Moda! Fantastic Bass! A bit pricey.
These earphones are excellent. For such a small device, it produces such a rich, deep bass sound. If anything, there are earphones that have better trebles, but I don't think they... Read more

Not impressed
Found earpiece not as comfortable or noise isolating as other in-ear phones such as Shure. Sound a bit tinny without base; good for voice but music not enjoyable. Read more
