I have used this system as a second vehicle unit and it compares quite passably against my TomTom One. I also bought an extra map card so I could use it in France. The first good thing I found was that the car mount was versatile enough to fit on the nose of the tank on my Fazor 1000 and gave me good vision of the screen even when using a tank bag. The second is that the external speaker socket allows you to hear the voice guidance via speaker inserts in your helmet. Even iPod ear pods will do at a push. I don't go out in the rain so lack of waterproofing is not a problem to me,
Drawbacks, firstly not quite as fast in response as the TomTom, may be 50 metres behind your actual position which can be a pain at complex junctions. Secondly very limited battery life and coupled with that the carholder blanks off the mini-A usb connector so you are forced to use the dedicated car charger. Thirdly, on minor roads it is unable to decide which is the dominant road, so no voice assisted turning directions.
