For over 200 years , Veuve Clicquot has stayed true to this motto, "Only One Quality, The Finest". In 1805, Madame Clicquot, a young widow of just 27, took over the reins of the House founded in Reims in 1772 and became one of the first business women in history. Veuve Clicquot is rightly proud of the exceptional quality of wines: it's vineyards are classified at an average of 96.9% being Grand or Premier Crus, long ageing such as over 30 months for Yellow Label (only 15 months legally required), and precious stocks of reserve (older) wines to ensure always a consistent yet complex champagne.
