Product Description

The use of diagrams, tables and, importantly, worked examples of equations and accounting processes improves clarity and communicates concepts well. (...) This guide promotes and illustrates the positive impact that efficient practice management can have. (...) The guide is a firm example of concise good avice and experience being imparted. The ideas are extremely soundly based, and I believe this is an excellent reference for any practice manager, for any practice contemplating employing a practice manager, and for any vet contemplating practice ownership. - Colin Whiting, Veterinary Times, May 2009

As the title suggests, this is a book for practice managers, by practice managers. This is the second edition, updating the original, and has an additional chapter 'aimed at helping the newly appointed manager through their first months in veterinary practice'. The contents are described clearly for each chapter with helpful page references, which makes for quick and easy location of the requisite information. The content is relevant and useful, and should be of benefit to anyone involved in practice management. The Veterinary Record, August 2008

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent practice management text. 20 Feb 2012
I found this book to be very helpful and well written. I purchased the 2nd edition which seemed up to date and relevent. The chapters are well organised and not too long. It covers topics in the just the right amount of detail without being too advanced. I am currently a vet undertaking a postgraduate cerificate in Veterinary Business and Management and I found it to be very useful for my studies. Highly recommended for Vets, Pratice Managers and Nurses involved in the running of a practice, or anyone who wants to be in the future!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice book for the U.K. 10 April 2008
By M. Gry Wildenstein - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a nice, organized and very informative book. The major drawback for US users is that it is written in and about veterinary practices in England. The information about labor laws etc. is basically not helpful for the States. Also all wage and salary calculations are in english pounds. I wish I had been aware that it is english before buying one for use in the US.
