Beware! Although this was printed in 2009, it is not an updated version of the celebrated Veterinary Notes for Horse Owners by Captain M Horace Hayes but a copy of the original printed in 1877! The flysheet states the material therein is certainly pre 1923.
Although of interest historically, the veterinary advice given is certainly at odds with how horses are medicated in the 21st Century and I for one would be concerned if an absolute novice bought this book and thought to administer first aid via it.

this book is a must in every horeseowners bookshelf.it discibes in clear language the problems wich can accur to horses and what to do. often books are writen for the vet and not the ownwer, using language most people find hard to understand, or the book is written for someone wo will always call the vet in any event and would do better not to look at a book at all. this hovever is full of good advise and will help with the decission of needing to call out a vet or not,as well as anwering the questions one forgot to ask when the vet was there. so if you want to save money on the vetsfees or just don't want to ask to many questions this book is a must.
