This is a really great book and far more indepth than I had imagined. It is laid out in a clear, systematic way with easy to digest sections. There are plenty of useful diagrams and photos also. I really liked the fact the author had given some of her own opinions on certain topics, such as which instruments she preferred. This is really helpful to someone starting out in veterinary dentistry where there is (initially) a confusing array of instruments to choose from.

excellent overall dental guide for veterinarians and technicians,

There are a number of dentistry books on the market, but most are geared toward the dental specialist, or to those thinking about going that route. But this book covers most of the basics for the average practitioner and dental technician who are not about to begin root canals and major reconstructions. It's well organized and has excellent descriptions on how to radiograph teeth, remove them and do basic surgery on soft tissues. There is even a brief section on fracture repair that probably should have been left out... but still well presented. The author also makes some excellent instrument recommendations.
