This card game is way too complicated for the age group the book appeals to i.e. 2 to 4. A simple snap game would be more fun.

Instructions are way too complicated. (a three year old is supposed to understand them and have fun)
We made up new rules. Start with 9 cards each. (should be only up to 4 players. The box says 2 or more players but I don't quite know how 10 players would get on) You've got a pile face down and a pile face up in the middle that you can pick up from. Play continues until you've got the hungry caterpillar, all the days of the week and the butterfly. And if you're feeling really creative and there's only two of you. You could make the cards and save yourself a few quid. I'm sure Eric wouldn't mind.

My son and I found this game most enjoyable, easy to learn, and great to put in my bag so we can play anywhere (while waiting for a bus or seating in restaurant waiting for meal) Whilst on holiday my husband and I were also caught out by our son who found us playing it while he was in bed.
