2009 sees the 40th Anniversary of Eric Carle's perennially popular children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Translated into over 50 languages worldwide, it's said the book has sold 1 copy every minute since its publication in 1969, and it is now recognised as a children's classic.
This animated version of Eric Carle's most famous work - along with 4 more of his stories - was produced by The Illuminated Film Company (who also adapted Raymond Briggs' The Snowman for the screen) and faithfully utilises Carle's unmistakeable artwork to charming effect.
Housed in a specially commissioned slipcase to mark the Hungry Caterpillar's 40th Anniversary, this DVD will delight fans of the book both young and old.
Also includes The Very Quiet Cricket, The Mixed Up Chameleon, Papa - Please Get The Moon For Me, and I See A Song.

This puts the Wonder in wonderful and
Beauty in beautiful
not just for kids
its a pleasure to watch
I cant beleive how cheap it is
I bought two for me (and my wee ones)
and for my sisters kids
THEY THANK ME ALL THE TIME
Under £15 would be a bargain for the pleasure it gives
under £10 is amazing and under £5 is a give away
Still to meet another who doesn't like it
Rolllllllll on the follow up

My 2 year old is entranced and wanted it on permanent repeat. Now he's 3, he's still asking for it. This is great, because as an adult, the animation is so nicely done that it makes it a pleasure to watch with him.

One of the best children dvds. Timeless and it never bores. Children at my school love it and ask for it again and again! I wish there were more dvds like this and maybe a sequel to animate more of eric carles books.
