Amazon.co.uk Review
Beginning with a mysterious message and a visit to the dreaded Aunt Agatha, Very Good, Jeeves once again sees Bertie Wooster beset by difficulties that can only be untangled by his faithful butler. Indeed, by the time of this entry in the Jeeves cycle, written in 1930, everyone is seeking the butler's advice--he is universally recognised as the man to get you out of a spot of bother. When he becomes attached to an unsuitable young woman, Bertie is asked--much to his indignation--"You don't believe for a moment Jeeves will sanction the match?" Even if Bertie refuses to acknowledge his butler's influence, it does not escape the attention of those around him.

As always, Wodehouse perfectly captures (and exposes to ridicule) the trivial concerns of the idle rich. Poor Bertie finds it impossible to refuse to help a friend-"We Woosters have our code"--and always finds that the solution to the muddle results in his own embarrassment, generally engineered by the discretely manipulative Jeeves. Read by Simon Callow, this audio abridgement offers a lively reading of the source material, which will both enchant Wodehouse's many fans, and convince newcomers to explore the rest of the author's extensive oeuvre. --John Oates

Product Description
If ever Bertie needs extracting from the soup, he must call for Jeeves. Whoever or whatever the cause of Bertie Wooster's consternation - Bobbie Wickham giving away his fierce Aunt Agatha's dog; getting into the bad books of Sir Roderick Glossop; attempting to scupper the unfortunate infatuation of his friend Tuppy for a robust opera singer - Jeeves can always be relied on to untangle the most ferocious of muddles - even Bertie's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious and wonderful, 22 Nov 2000

This review is from: Very Good, Jeeves! (Paperback)
These are a selection of short stories involving Jeeves and Wooster. Usually I prefer the complete novels, but this book gets my undying seal of approval because of the story of Tuppy Glossop and his relationship with a very snooty opera singer. It is a simple story, so I won't give it away, but I urge you to read it. It made me cry with laughter and is a true gem. The other stories are great too, by the way!

Its been about twenty years since I read a Jeeves and Bertie Wooster book by PG Wodehouse. I am glad to say that they have not lost any of their old sparkle. I rarely see books today which have been written so well and are so very very funny.
This book very good Jeeves is like all the others, outstanding, if you do not own any Jeeves and Wooster by PG Wodehouse its about time you did.

This book rather than just make you smile or feel warm inside will make you laugh out loud and quite possibly cry. This and the other works of Woodehouse are the funniest books I have ever read. "Buy it you cad". Pip pip!
