5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific book! 4 Jan 2010
By Travelin' Mamma - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My 3 year-old daughter just loves Peter Reynolds and so do I! We've had this book for over a year now and we don't tire of it. For parent's who are looking for "empowering" book for girls I don't think this book should be overlooked. It isn't a "girl-power" book but those often sound didactic and well point out that girls need "empowering" since they don't have it. Here you have a spunky girl character whose dad makes her breakfast, whose mom is a dentist, and whose aunt is a construction worker and this is just normal life. Oh and did I mention that her favorite color is ... Orange? A delightful book!

It is part of the reading series used in school and it had the necessary vocabulary words in an adorable story for first graders to hear.
