While researching M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) recipients, I discovered Carol Kidd and she is a marvelous singer, one of the best kept secrets. She sings every song and it's fresh and clear as beautiful. Her singing voice can calm you down in the most stressful of situations as well relax you as well. She deserves to be a household name just like Celine Dion and other great vocalists of our time. She sings Gershwin songs as if you are hearing it for the first time. Any song even the traditional Happy Birthday song sung by Carol would be memorable and unforgettable. Carol Kidd MBE is truly an amazing singer and should be a household name. Until then, she is our secret. Frank Sinatra was right that she was one of the best kept singers in Scotland or Great Britain period.

I discovered Carol Kidd on the CD "Best Audiophile Voices 1", track 5, song title "When I Dream". This lady has a spectacular voice. I liked this track so much I bought this "The Very Best Of" 2-CD collection. The recording quality of this 2-CD set is very good, but unfortunately, the song selection does nothing for me. Out of both CD's the "When I Dream" title is the only track I was able to listen to for its entirety. I give her voice and recording quality 5 stars, and the content selection 1 star.
I hope I can find more recordings of her with content more to my liking. Her voice is absolutely beautiful.
